“Christian Love” And “Holiness”

Several years have gone by since I last posted on this site. I do not know how many of my previous followers will get informed about this new post.

Today I came across this video. It is a video about a biblical concept of “holiness”. Theologians who have dealt with “holiness” found that true holiness has much to do with the kind of love described in 1 Corinthians 13.

Not all who have been following me on “Motivation of Christian Love” will have studied the bible for a biblical concept of holiness. Yet, as you can learn from the above video, the Christian faith is not just about receiving forgiveness but about transformation.

As we come to Jesus, confessing our sinfulness and our sins, we receive forgiveness. Jesus has carried our sins on the cross of Calvary. This is not a purpose in itself. It leads to a restored relationship with God and kicks off a process of transformation in our lives.

“Christian love” as described in the bible is not based on a balance of interest. As human beings we easily love those who love us.

Christian love is based on the fact that Jesus Christ is ready to forgive us although we did not love him. As we experience and contemplate the love of Jesus towards us, our attitudes towards others are being affected.

In the above video there is much talk about holiness. Holiness begins as we set our lives apart for Jesus. It begins with making Him the Lord of our lives.

Christian love is an aspect of holiness.

Watching the video will take about 23 minutes.
